Personal Details

Personal details such as email addresses are intended for maintaining membership records and for communication between Registered Users. Personal details will not knowingly be revealed to third parties for any purpose without the express consent of the User.  

Registered Users must not reveal personal details of any other Registered User that they may find from information on the Site or forums. If transgressions are discovered, then the Committee reserves the right to withdraw all privileges of registration.

Passwords

Private parts of the Site are password protected. Passwords should not be revealed to any other person. In particular, a house name must not be used as this could be easily discovered and expose the private parts of the Site. It could cause damage to the reputation of the Hockering Estate if private concerns are made public. If Registered Users believe that a password has been compromised then they should immediately change it. If it is found that membership username and password is abused, then the Committee reserves the right to withdraw all privileges of registration. 
 
Acceptable Use 

i) The HRA Site may be used only for lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret or intellectual property right used without proper authorisation, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws. 

ii) Any action which contravenes the Computer Misuse Act 1990 (UK) will result in immediate termination of registration and may be subject to legal action. 

iii) Registered Users may not place on the Site: 
• any obscene or offensive language;
• any material which is defamatory, abusive, discriminatory or hateful; 
• any material which may encourage criminal conduct or which may give rise to civil liability, or which is otherwise unlawful; 
• any material belonging to any person other than the copyright owner without the prior written consent of the owner.

iv) The HRA will be entitled to liquidated damages to represent the cost of removal of matter placed on the Site in contravention of these conditions at the rate of £100 per item to be removed.
